History Of National Tree Day
The mayor of Mondoedo, Spain, sponsored the world’s first recorded arbor plantation celebration around 1594. Eventually, in 1805, in the neighborhood of Villanueva de la Sierra, a pastor named Don Juan Abern Samtrés acknowledged the value of trees for wellbeing, tidiness, adornment, nature, atmosphere, and norms. To make Carnival Tuesday more cheerful, he opted to plant trees on what is now regarded as Arbor Day. The 3-day festival actually started with a Mass and stayed that way for three days.
Following the Mass, Samtrés, backed by priests, instructors, and a huge gathering of neighbors, decided to plant the Valley of the Ejido’s 1st tree, a poplar. Subsequently, there was a fiesta and dancing. Samtrés wrote a proclamation in the defensive effort of trees, that he spread to surrounding communities in order to instill adoration and reverence for the environment and inspire individuals to grow trees in their neighborhoods. Nebraska hosted the first American Tree Day around the year 1872.
Birdsey Northrop of Connecticut visited the country of Japan around 1883 and conveyed his Arbor Day and Village progress statement. And the American Forestry Association appointed Northrop as Chairman of the committee to show support for Arbor Day right across the country the following year. He also celebrated Arbor Day alongside Australia, Canada, and Europe.
On June 20, 1889, National Arbor Day was first observed in Australia. Many Australian states have Arbor Day, but Victoria has Arbor Week, which Premier Rupert Hamer proposed in the 1980s. In 1996, the government chose to go one step further by creating National Tree Day, and the initiative has seen communities plant nearly 26 million trees ever since. The Planet Ark Environmental Foundation established “The Seedling Bank” in 2019 can provide financial assistance to schools and community groups that require seedlings.

Why We Love National Tree Day
Trees provide even more benefits to us than we have already mentioned. They offer food, sanctuary, shade, soil stabilization, erosion prevention, and other benefits. We must return something to them. Although it is theoretically performed on School Tree Day, Planet Ark organizes it all and it is widely viewed as a single event. Children are the individuals we will eventually offer this world to, and they need to discover how important trees are to us, in addition to how to plant and give a damn about them.
This isn’t just good for trees; many animals are suffering directly due to things like plastic bags or contaminated water. All of this eventually relates to what we digest, sip, and even to the air we inhale. We feel that anyone who doesn’t feel that National Tree Day is worth celebrating doesn’t deserve to live on this planet!
