Just like all the years before this year’s theme for World Environment Day will also be held on 5th June. The selected for the year is “Biodiversity.” According to the announcement of UNEP, this year’s host for World Environment Day would be Colombia and Germany.

The day can be celebrated in numerous ways. Some of the ways are mentioned as follows-

  1. Join in an event near your community and spread awareness within your circle and take actions that are within your capabilities.
  2. Collect the piled up trash in your locality and spread the word among the people of the community not to throw their garage here and there.
  3. Save energy and water resources in your own home.
  4. DO your research regarding environmental issues and hold an event to spread that knowledge and foster the culture of collective action among the people.

Why Should The Day Be Celebrated?

We think it’s a bizarre question to ask since we all can see the vast amount of environmental damage we have done which has made so many animals and creatures around the world go extinct. All one needs to do is a bit of googling to find out the nasty imprints we have made on the environment which is supposedly our mother and only home. It’s time we all stopped fooling around with our environment and tried to send out our own collective mess.
